As the mother of three girls, Mary Lou Reinwand of Madison experienced first-hand the need for a high quality, custom designed, reasonably priced line of dance, gymnastics and skating wear.  Over the years it became apparent to her that this type of specialized clothing had to be ordered online and that the few products she could find in stores were ill-fitting, of lesser quality and made overseas.

Mary Lou started sewing outfits and leggings when her daughter, Bekie took up gymnastics. One day Bekie came home from class and said, “Mom, everybody wants leggings like these.”So, Reinwand made more and sold them at gymnastics studios. Then her daughters got into swimming and their mother started making custom swimwear. Her business took off from there.

In 1999, Mary Lou opened a retail location to sell her line of Rosy Cheeks Originals to a wider base of customers. Although managing a retail business is time-consuming, Reinwand has continued to make time to do what she does best: sew. She creates custom designs to fit all sizes.  “It’s what my customers want,” she said simply. “Our clothing outlasts the imported stuff by a mile. Our quality gets handed down – not thrown out.”

Today, Rosy Cheeks and Co. features apparel with a unique style with which no factory-produced product can compare. The prices are competitive, and unlike ordering online or from catalogs, you don’t have to pay for shipping, you can try the clothing on before purchasing and alterations/requests are taken care of in a timely manner.
